Hey all, Just about to head to bed, but while I was trying to fall asleep, I was trying to find some info on what headlights people prefer for their bikes.
KSNV NBC Las Vegas covers news, sports, weather and traffic for the Las Vegas, Nevada area including Paradise, Spring Valley, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Indian Springs, Sloan, Searchlight.
I’ve got a 2017 Sepcialized Allez E5 with a Flux Expert taillight. After having an encounter (while I was driving my car) with a fellow cyclist this weekend who rode a similar bike and only had a taillight, I became acutely aware of the need for illumination from the front as well as the back. Damn near ran the dude over.
Anyhow, I tend to like to stick with OEM stuff just because I’m brand-loyal and I figure that the manufacturer of the bike will know best how to design accessories for it. My research led me to believe that the Specialized Flux Expert headlight was the best, but those appear to have been discontinued and the replacements don’t get great reviews.
Important things for me:
The ability for a motorist to see the headlight from as far away as possible
A good battery life
A built-in/flip-out USB charger (my taillight has this and it makes recharging so simple)
Any suggestions you may have would be warmly appreciated. Cheers!
